Over the weekend, I got some time to get out and do some wildlife photography. While the focus of the trip was mainly whitetail deer, there were a few other subjects that came forward also. This whitetail deer image was probably my favorite of the day, though.
I had to shoot at a "high" ISO in order to keep my shutter speed up since it was fairly early in the morning. In fact, the warm light you see on this deer was some of the first light of the morning. I took this image with my Canon 7D and Tamron 150-600mm lens. This is also a rare handheld capture for me. Another reason I had the ISO cranked up a bit.
